Now that J is in “preschool”, I’ve entered the phase of providing valentines for all the little kiddies. I saw a Valentine’s craft pack at Michaels the other day, brought it home and started fiddling around with the contents. Here’s what I came up with:
Paint Chip Monster Puppets, perfect for little fingers, and super easy to make!
Start with a 4-tiered paint chip, I think this one was for Behr paint at Home Depot.
Accordion fold. It help to very lightly score on the opposite side of the fold.
Fold the edges back and then cut slits at the accordion folds with a box cutter.
Lightly score the corners of each tab. Not sure how else to explain it, so I hope the picture helps.
Fold back the corners, and close up the flaps as far as they will go.
Glue or tape the flaps together to create the body of the puppet.
Cut out a heart from another paint chip and glue/tape on the inside of the “mouth” to become a tongue.
Now just decorate the face any way you’d like! I added googly eyes, a pom pom for the nose and some pipe cleaner curly cues as fun horns.
What do you think?
This barely made a dent in my craft pack, so follow along on RSS or Facebook to see what else I come up with!

These are so adorable! When my kids were younger, every trip to Home Depot meant collecting a few paint chips. Wish I has seen this project back then!
Thank you! I feel guilty just swiping a ton of paint chips, so I’ll have to collect a few on every trip now, just to save up for random projects!
So, so cute! Love it:)

Hmm it seems like your website ate my first comment (it was super long) so
I guess I’ll just sum it up what I wrote and say, I’m thoroughly
enjoying your blog. I as well am an aspiring blog writer
but I’m still new to everything. Do you have any tips for rookie blog writers? I’d certainly appreciate it.
