This is a sponsored post on behalf of Mohawk Home. I was compensated with an area rug to review, but all opinions and pictures are my own.
After a bit of a rocky start, we’re settling slowly into new-again parenthood as well as adjusting to juggling two kids and a dog. It’s a good thing we only have 1 very loud and rambunctious kid, but 2 ridiculously cute kids!
The one thing I didn’t look forward to while pregnant was the thought of all those middle-of-the-night feedings, especially because the bulk of it will be done in chilly fall and frosty winter weather. Our house is a 100 year old drafty colonial with no insulation. Come of think of it, we do have insulation – horsehair insulation, as I found out one day…but I digress. Point is, it gets cold in our house, especially the floors. So yeah, I was definitely not looking forward to having to get up at night and step down from a cozy bed to a cold floor. I guess that sort of shock would be good to wake me up, but I don’t want to wake up. I want to change that dirty diaper or rock the baby in a sleepwalking daze before crawling back into bed!
So you can imagine how excited I was to try out an area rug from Mohawk Home. They have such a huge selection of area rugs to choose from, both online and at your local Home Depot or Lowe’s. It took me a while to choose the one I wanted, and no I didn’t ask Drew for his opinion, since it wasn’t his cold feet getting up in the middle of the night. In the end, I got the 5’x8′ Fancy Trellis rug in Hot Pink. Yup, Hot Pink! And I love it! Not that I like waking up in the mornings these days, but opening my eyes and seeing the beautiful color of this rug helps just that little bit, and knowing I have a hot pink rug in my gray bedroom just warms my girlie girl soul.
And would you believe it? Drew loves it too! He didn’t even know we were getting a new rug, but he was instantly impressed with the quality, softness, and the fact that the rug doesn’t slip and slide everywhere. The pile is low enough that I can roll a bassinet on it easily, and my bare feet is loving the soft and silky feel.
We’re not the only ones who love the softness. Our new little missus seems pretty content on it too!
On top of all that, Mohawk rugs are still Made in the USA! Check out this video to learn more:

Believe me when I say…your feet will thank you.
That picture of your little girlie on the area hug is the cutest! Thanks for this great giveaway. It’d be great to get a soft and silky rug for our bedroom. And you have me convinced Mohawk would be a great brand to invest in!
Love the color and pattern you chose! Your baby girl looks so sweet lounging on the new rug 🙂 I would love to win one for our house! Thanks for the giveaway!
Awesome giveaway, ChiWei! LOVE the rug you chose- one my favorite patterns ever 🙂 Good luck with those midnight feedings- even with a new rug, I remember they can about do a girl in some days! 🙂
This is such a great prize. I love the rug you chose.
Hot pink! What a great idea. Thanks for a chance to win the area rug.
I LOVE this rug!! What a great POP of color! 🙂
I LOVE THIS RUG!!!!! The color is simply gorgeous! I so hope I win 🙂
I LOVE your choice!! And your little model looks adorable… I think red is her color. 😉
LOVE the rug you chose! Gorgeous color!
Thanks Kirsten! I’m seriously loving it! It really is a beautiful color – not too red, not too hot pinky, but that perfect rich vibrant deep pink, it just makes me smile to think about it 🙂
Thanks Adrianne! I would definitely prefer red to being her color than a pale pink. I love bright colors, so maybe she’ll inherit that from me 🙂
Good luck Marilyn! Everyone can use a rug like this to brighten their day!
Thanks Kadie! I know, the pink pops so well against our Gray Owl walls. It’s the little bit of girlie girl I have in our bedroom! Well, quite a large bit, I guess – the rug is pretty loud 🙂
Thanks Claudia! I would never have been this brave a few years ago. I dunno, all of a sudden, I just wanted color, ya know? Thanks for entering and good luck!
Thank you Paula!
Thanks Sky! I’ve actually been very lucky with this little one – she’s very easy on me and lets me sleep for a whopping 3 hours at a time sometimes. The rug doesn’t make me less tired, but it’s sure nice to look at! And you’re right, I love the pattern too – the geometry probably appeals to the neat freak in me 🙂
Sarah, thanks for stopping by! She did enjoy lounging on the rug, at least for a little while. Then she realized she was on the ground with her crazy mama trying to take pictures of her and the fussing started 🙂
Thank you Lauren! She is pretty cute, isn’t she? And she (sort of) lets me take pictures of her, unlike her older brother. Good luck on the giveaway – I definitely recommend this rug to anyone!
Love that rug, ChiWei! I have a weakness for trellis, and the colour is divine! Such a good choice!
What a beautiful color choice. I would just love to have a all pink room for me. Something I never had as a child I guess. LOL.
Haha, me neither! I never had that girlie girl room. That’s probably why when I finally got a bike last year (from a yard sale), I went out and bought myself silver streamers for the handlebars, just because I never had that as a kid. Even better, those streamers cost more than the bike! Thanks for stopping by Linda!
Thanks Tara! I was never into the trellis before, but it looks so good and is such a simple pattern. And makes my bedroom (and me, I guess) feel just a little bit more modern 🙂
Oh my gosh! Love the rug. I painted my living room this summer in a color called Pink Ballet Slipper and have been looking for the perfect rug to place in that room. I’ve been stuck on pink since my Grandma bought me a pink jumper with matching pink tights for my birthday many many many years ago. Does the rug include that charming little one ?
Wow, the pink rug sounds like it’d be perfect for your room! My husband would kill me if I ever painted a room pink, so I guess my compromise was to get the rug instead 🙂 Thanks for stopping by Lanria and good luck!
ChiWei – Guess what? My husband helped me pick out the color of paint. He actually likes it. Who knew after all these years of marriage. Wonders do occur!
That’s awesome! That he likes the paint and that there are always surprises in relationships and marriages. Your comment totally made me smile and look forward to the future wonders in my own marriage 🙂
