As we all prepare for Valentine’s Day, print cute sayings and pack sweet treats, let’s not forget to give a Valentine for teacher as well! If you know a teacher who drinks the occasional glass of wine, why not present them with a little wine and whine gift package, wrapped in a pair of cozy sock and complete with a punny whine poem tag!
My gift package consisted of a bottle of wine, a pair of socks and a crochet star. To complete the gift, I designed and printed a Wine/Whine poem to thank them for all their hard work and for putting up with the little whiner in our family. The whole thing was then tied with a pretty ribbon.
To gift the wine in the socks, insert one sock into the other, and then slip the bottle of wine into it. I found that wine bottles with the indent at the bottom of the bottle sit better because you can tuck the socks seams underneath.
I actually used this as a Christmas gift, given right before the holiday break, but it can easily be adapted to Valentine’s Day, the last day of school or anytime in between! You would just need to change up the socks and use different colored ribbon. For Valentine’s Day, maybe tie a small bag of chocolate kisses in place of the crochet star. An all purpose gift card would also make a great gift addition!
I’ve included a few variations of the whine poem for you to print out, depending on the occasion you want to use it for. There’s the Christmas candy cane, a red gingham (reminds me of a picnic, no?), a grey stripe (for male teachers perhaps?), and a fun graph paper pattern for your child’s math teacher!
These printables are solely for personal use (see my Terms of Use). I’m rather proud of my little poem, having not written one in years and years, so I do ask that you do not do not sell or redistribute the files. Feel free to share this post though, and pin away!
Do you give gifts to your kids’ teachers for Valentine’s Day? Or is it just for the end of the school year? Or, is it just me?!
Pretty presentation. I love it!
Thank you Carolyn!
ChiWei, I LOVE this printable! A great non-sweet treat idea for Valentine’s Day!
Oh …well, if it were me, there’d be a sweet bottle of wine in there 🙂 I’m a big fan of dessert wines! Raspberry wine with a bit of chocolate? Devine.
