My first October Flashback Friday! Is the weather getting cooler where you are? This means the season of spray painting outdoors is coming to an end. So before it gets to cold to work outside, let’s take a look back at a spray paint project I made for J’s room, my Merry Go Round Bookshelf. Unlike the other Flashback Fridays, I’m not going to say you can make this all fall-like and for Halloween, because this is a year round home decor project, at least it was for me. We’ve used it to hold books and other small items. Books have been spun off as well, as J learned to spin it around and around, sorta like a real merry go round. I don’t think he knows what a merry go round is yet, at least not the old-school kind that this one emulates. He knows them as the big things with crazy horses and lions on it that freak him out but his mom makes him go on anyways.
I was never a huge fan of the old-school merry go round. There was always some boy who wanted to spin it too fast, and I always felt like I was going to throw up. Maybe I should have just hurled and taught that hypothetical kid a lesson. But, it’s awfully cute as a decoration in a kid’s room, or use it in an office or craft room to hold papers and supplies!
