Back in March, we ordered some new chairs for our living room, and they have finally arrived! They are our own set of his-and-hers mis-matching chairs, kind of like the ones in the movie Up!. Even better, they are custom and locally made right in our state. Talk about shopping locally! Yeah!
One of them, (his), is a faux leather, and wipeable. The other (mine) is linen, and not so wipeable. Now you may be wondering why on earth I would choose to buy such a delicately colored chair, especially if I had the option of choosing my own upholstery. Hmm…oh right, because I LOVE IT! I know I’ll need to make/buy/hack together a slip cover, but just knowing there’s linen perfection under my bum puts a smile on my face!
I love that there’s no sagging in the seat, and there’s enough room to put my feet up or cuddle with a little boy to read a book. The afore-mentioned little boy found my chair quick enough, pulling himself up, and settling down against mommy to watch a little Sesame Street before bed!
The weather here is going to be rainy for a few days, so I’m staying out of the garden and curling up in my new chair for some reading, some crochet, and if I get motivated enough, some sewing with the hot orange vinyl I bought today.
Here’s a happy belated Mother’s Day to all of you wonderful women out there! I hope your weekends were wonderful, and your week matches in wonderful-ness!
