It’s only a couple of days away from Easter, so I figured I’ll share a couple pictures of my “decorated” mantle. It’s not much, definitely not as fancy or serene or Pottery-Barn-esque as many of the ones I’ve seen, but I’m a simple girl. I had grand plans for this mantle, once upon a couple of weeks ago. Plans that included the PB inspired hanging eggs that say “Happy Easter”, big tissue peonies in soup cans tied with twine, crocheted chick egg characters stomping across the mantle, and my bunny rabbit sitting in a basket of crocheted carrots.
Well, the hanging eggs became my paper and fabric wrapped plastic eggs, the peonies didn’t happen, and neither did the crocheted chicks.
My bunny landed on the mantle, but with only 1 crocheted carrot.
With the weather so warm, our forsythia bloomed, so I used some cut branches as the centerpiece. I actually really don’t like forsythia, having pulled maybe 50 overgrown ones out of my backyard, but I do love the yellow!
We’re going to a birthday party on Easter weekend, so I hope to have some party pictures to show everyone next week. Again, big plans! We’ll see how that goes.
