Favorite Crochet and Knit Projects of 2017

by | Crochet

As 2017 winds down, it’s fun to reflect on all the great projects that have been debuted this year, both right here on One Dog Woof, as well as some really inspirational stuff from my fellow designers and bloggers!

Favorite crochet and knit projects of 2017 from www.1dogwoof.com

This year, my most popular project by far is the Classic Stuffed Bunny. It’s a basic design, but made special by using some fluffy Lion Brand Homespun Thick and Quick yarn. The result is super cuddly and huggable. Looks like I’ll be making some friends for this bunny in 2018!

Another amigurumi favorite is the Scandinavian Santa Gnome. I love this guy mostly because he’s got no eyes, which eliminates that pain point of getting the facial expression just right. His face is hidden behind a bushy beard, so we can all guess at what he’s thinking about!

Other faves from this year include a few blankets, like the Love Triangles Blanket, which was my most liked project on Instagram this year. I am a total sucker for this color combination of mustard, cream and black, and can’t wait to make more projects in this palette.

I guess mustard is my favorite color in general, since it works so well with just about any combination. In the Southwest Sunburst Afghan, the mustard is paired with a bright coral and navy blue that makes it pop off the gray background. This blanket also includes a complete corner to corner pictorial, in case you need a bit of help, or just a refresher.

Rounding out my 2017 favorites is the Catalunya Colorblock Poncho. I dabbled in knitting and wearables a bit this year and enjoyed putting together this simple piece using Lion Brand’s cool-to-the-touch FastTrack yarn.

2017 was a super busy year as I juggled this blogging life with my out-of-the-home, full-time job as an events manager. Putting on my first big corporate conference and really digging into that role at work meant that I didn’t have as much time for the blog as I may have wanted, but a new year is upon us, and I look forward to sharing a whole new collection of projects with you in the coming months! Stay in the loop with all my adventures by following me on Instagram, or subscribe to my email newsletter!

Now let’s take a look at some of the best projects from around the crochet world! Each of my fellow bloggers and friends have shared their top post from 2017, and it’s a great collection! If you haven’t already made these, it’s a perfect start to your 2018 list!

Thank you Chiwei for all the wonderful projects. The Classic Stuffed Sunny was my favorite. Made 2! One for each of my grandchildren. I am also a weaver and am very intrigued with the crochet wall hanging. I think it is beautiful. Keep creating! Also, my niece has asked me about crocheting her a frisbee.
