Origami Love Cards and Looking for Feedback

by | DIY

I’ve got another pair of cards to share today, this one just regular ol’ free printables of origami love cards, but this post is going to be a bit more interactive, as in, I’d really love to hear suggestions from you!

Here’s the backstory:

I’m currently enrolled in a Graphic Design certificate program and one of the classes I took this semester was Adobe Illustrator Basics.  Our last assignment was to use Illustrator to do anything.  Yup, an open assignment, but hopefully one that helped in our lives in some way, whether it be in our work or school, or well, blogging.  My inspiration for this assignment was this Easter bunny + this mason jar label contest, and I came up with a few designs for a colorful origami figure.

For now, I’ve stuck the owl and the fox on a card that you can print for Mother’s Day.  But…

What else would you like to see me do with these graphics?

As you can see, I did get around to making a draft of some mason jar labels, but I didn’t realize my jars were wide-mouth and these labels are a bit small, so I’ll be sizing these puppies up a bit.

But what else?

  • Cupcake toppers?
  • More blank cards for different occasions?
  • Pendant banners?  Round banners?
  • Gift tags?
  • Treat bag toppers?
  • Tent cards for place settings?
  • Generic labels?
  • Business cards?
  • Room decor printables?

So, if you’re here,

Can you leave a comment below on what you would like to see these graphics turned into?

And if you have any other ideas or suggestions, I’d love to hear them!

For now, here’s where you can download the I Love You cards.  I had sized them to fit the little envelopes that come with the little greeting card packs in the impulse buy section of Michaels, but apparently, that’s not an official size at all.  But since they are smaller than the pop-up cards, they’ll fit in A2 envelopes.  These cards are blank on the inside.  All you need to do is print, cut on the dotted line and fold.

This is obviously going to be an extended project, but who knows, maybe it’ll turn into an ebook!

I really love these! Thank you for offering the free download. Ok, here is my 2 cents 😉
    1. I collect and create dollhouse miniatures so I would love to shrink these images down and use them as artwork for a dollhouse.
    2. I also have a passion for cross stitching, so perhaps a chart for a square for a quilt or little pillows or something like that? Or embroidery…

I just came across these cards and the fox and owl are my two favorite animals. I love them. Anything you do with them would be perfect. I would like them big enough to hang on the wall. And address labels would be cute.
