Just sharing these quick and simple spool ornaments today, which were a Eureka moment thanks to the impulse buy section at Michaels. The sequin ornaments I shared a few days ago were also impulse buy creations, so we have ourselves a little series here, I guess!
I found these twine-wrapped spool ornaments for $1.50 each so I grabbed 3 of the same type of wood grain. There were others that were red rustic or gold or black, but I chose a silvery wood to match my tree.
The original twine wasn’t wrapped very well, so I stripped them down to the little plastic center and re-wrapped them.
1. with yarn
2. with twine
3. with lace
I hot-glued the ends so they wouldn’t unravel and then added a bit of leftover twine to the top so I can hang them on the tree.
Admittedly, I almost didn’t share these because the tutorial is pretty much non-existent, but I think they’re cute and perfect for ornaments and anyone can make them!
What do you think? Share-worthy? Running out to the Michaels now?
I love these! Pinned of course. 🙂
Aw, these are so sweet! Would make a great Christmas present for any sewers.
