Apple Paper Punch Thank You Cards and Greeting Cards

by | DIY, Paper

I have a quick little craft project to share with you today, and “Apple Paper Punch Greeting Card” might not sound super exciting on its own, but it’s super exciting when I tell you about that this little project has got some awesome friends!

One Dog Woof: An Apple Punch and Paint Chips to create greeting cards

I am so excited to be teaming up with some of #myfavoritebloggers to share monthly projects based on a common theme.   Before you get to see this month’s creative overload, here’s a shot of my beautiful friends.  I have never met them in person, but they are my blogging lifeline in many ways.  I think if we ever got together in person, y’all better watch out, because we can take over the world with our blogging power.  Do I exaggerate?  Maybe just a little, but do not underestimate any of these fabulous women, the support we provide each other and the amount of knowledge our brains can hold!

They are, from left to right, top down:

Kristen from One Tough Mother; Sky from Creative Captial B; Marilyn from 4 You with Love; Tara from Suburble; Bethany from Pitter and Glink; Melanie from It Happens in a Blink; Kara from Petal to Picots; ChiWei from One Dog Woof; Sarah from Repeat Crafter Me; Kadie from 7 Alive; Nancy from Small Things with Love; and Amy from One Artsy Mama.

So, this month, we decided the theme was APPLES – for back to school or for the fall harvest, your choice.  Look at all these creative ideas!  Make sure to spend some time and check out all the other APPLE projects.  The links for each one will be at the bottom of this post.

Ok, so back to my simple little craft.  With a baby sprinkle party last week, and a baby coming soon, there are plenty of  gifts to thank people for.  And that means thank you notes!  I have some cute notecards, but a lot of them are plain white or beige or just plain.  Armed with a small apple punch, some paint chips from the hardware store, and plain cards or cardstock, I made or embellished my own greeting cards.

One Dog Woof: Embellish a thank you card with paint chips and an apple punch

All I did was punch out a bunch of little apples and glued them in different configurations using a glue stick.  The possibilities are pretty endless.  I also bought a heart punch and a star punch, so you can imagine I’ll be playing around a bit more.

You can use these as thank you cards or back to school cards or whatever you’d like, and it’s a great way to add a little personal touch!

Now go see what other great APPLE projects #myfavbloggers put together!

  9. Lauren @ The Thinking Closet

I definitely need me an apple punch! The apples spilling out of the basket are too cute. (Plus this gives me another good reason to rob my Home Depot of all their paint chip cards during my next visit…mwah ha ha.)

I love the apple thank you card and the barrel of apples. These are such super cute ideas!! Pinning it!! I love these theme ideas!! Thanks so much!!

  11. ChiWei

I hate to be a Debbie Downer, but these paint chips are only free in limited quantities because they cost the store a lot of money. I asked at the home improvement store if they had discontinued chip samples, which they didn’t. They said the paint chips are super expensive, so if people are just popping in and grabbing a handful with no intention of buying paint, it is essentially theft.

Beth, thank you for sharing your point of view; however, I do strive for a judgment free zone in the comments. If you are uncomfortable using paint chips, this project can also be created using cardstock, construction paper or even magazine cutouts.

Love your card with the apples and the basket (barrel). Where did you get the apple punch and what stamp is the basket? I would love to send some fall cards out with something similar. Thanks for sharing!
